Build configuration
and ordering procedure

You can use our bike configurator to specify how you would like your Rennstahl bike to be built. There is no commitment to buy at this stage. Here are some tips to help you through the process of fitting out your bike:

Step 1: Configuring a complete bike

  • If you can get to our showroom in Garching, just north Munich, you’re welcome to book a test ride. (Maybe a good excuse for a holiday?)
  • Use our bike configurator (there’s a link on each product’s page) to put together a selection of build options. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email or give us a call. We all speak English.
  • When you click on the “Print Configuration” button, a pdf of your desired configuration(s) will be created for you to download. (There is no commitment to make a purchase at this stage, so you can take your time to think about what you have selected.)
  • The “RESET” button removes all your selected options and returns you to the standard configuration – use this if you want to start again from scratch. This process will take a few moments, as the page will need to be reloaded.

Once you have decided on the build specification for your bike, ordering is very straightforward. Rennstahl operates on a direct-sales basis. This means that we sell our bikes direct to the customer, with no middleman. That allows you to benefit from competitive prices and direct contact with the manufacturer.

Here’s how the purchase process works, for both frames and complete bikes:

Step 2: Ordering procedure for complete bikes

  • Send us an email with “Order: Complete Bike (model name)” in the Subject field. In the email itself, please include your full name, address and phone number(s), and attach the pdf of your finished configuration.
  • We will get back to you promptly, to resolve any potential queries and provide you with an approximate completion/despatch date.
  • After all the details have been finalised, you will then receive a detailed order confirmation.
  • Once you have carefully reviewed your order, you make a payment of €500 to begin the process of building your bike.
  • Build time: between four and six weeks, depending on model and time of year.
  • When the bike is ready we will contact you and payment of the outstanding balance (bike purchase plus delivery) will become due. Once this has been completed, your new bike will be despatched via a carrier that offers a specialised bicycle delivery service.

Ordering procedure for frames

  • Use our website to decide which frame you want. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email or give us a call. We all speak English.
  • Place your order by email, with “Order: Frame (frame name)” in the Subject field. In the email itself, please include your full name, address and phone number(s), along with details of the frame you would like to purchase.
  • We will get back to you promptly, to resolve any potential queries and provide you with an approximate completion/despatch date.
  • You will then receive a detailed order confirmation.
  • Once you have carefully reviewed your order, you make a payment of €500 to begin the process of building your frame.
  • Build time: between four and six weeks, depending on model and time of year.
  • When the frame is ready we will contact you and payment of the outstanding balance will become due. Once this has been completed, your new frame will be sent to you via DHL.

Leasing a bike via Jobrad.org

In Germany, employers, employees and self-employed people can lease a Rennstahl bike via Jobrad.org, and benefit from tax advantages. By doing so you will be making a positive contribution to the environment and helping to reduce traffic congestion. More information is available at www.jobrad.org (in German only). There may be a similar system in your country, for example the Cycle to Work scheme in the UK.
