“The Falkenjagd Aristos CX Cyclocross has all the charm you could imagine. It also scores on stiffness, specification and elegance.”

It’s an old cycle racing saying: ‘Winners win in the winter’. The Falkenjagd Aristos CX Cyclocross builds on the long tradition of cyclo-cross, that owes its existence to off-season preparation for the summer months. Ever since French racing cyclists in winter training equipped their bikes with treaded tyres and started going off-road, cyclo-cross has been a permanent fixture in the racing calendar – and few things are as thrilling as taking a lightweight, stripped-down bike over hill and dale, at speed. Cyclo-cross: an hour in hell.
No other material can compete with titanium for cyclo-cross bike construction. Lighter than steel, much stronger than carbon, more comfortable than aluminium – off-road is where the metal of the Titans really stands out. Closer inspection reveals that the Aristos CX Cyclocross is good for a great deal more. It will jump straight into the urban jungle, and is equally suited to touring and winter racing. Sure, that’s what all-rounders are about. But the Aristos CX Cyclocross avoids the trap of ‘Specialist in Everything’. It is a sports bike through and through, with steep geometry and a short wheelbase that give agility on tight bends. With narrow tyres, the Aristos CX Cyclocross will also score as a road racer or fast tourer.
The powerful disc brakes can easily deal with tough off-road conditions, but are also entirely suitable for high speed riding on tarmac. 180mm discs at the front and 160mm rear ensure maximum strength and safety. In keeping with its versatility, the Aristos CX Cyclocross is fitted with numerous braze-ons: bottle carriers, mudguards and rear rack. (Admittedly, the cyclo-cross purist will probably take the ‘without’ option!) Thru-axles front and back and a PressFit bottom bracket shell give a modern accent to the spec sheet.
Scratchproof and unfazed by mud, water and road salt, titanium is the optimal frame material for a cyclo-cross bike with all-round capabilities that allow it to also serve as an excellent winter training or fast touring bike. Wheel clearance easily allows 35mm tyres, with mudguards. The Aristos CX Cyclocross comes with Shimano Dura-Ace or Ultegra gears and brakes; alternative options are available on request. Other components are Syntace as standard; Falkenjagd Titanium and Tune Components packages can also be chosen – the latter coming in a range of anodised colours.
