“A wonderful piece of high-tech craftsmanship.”

The creation of touring bikes is the purest distillation of what bicycle manufacturing is all about. It demands experience and meticulousness in equal measure. Nowhere else does the customer notice so quickly whether the manufacturer has kept their promises. Nowhere else are the effects so profound, when the finished product isn’t what it should be. With the potential result that a rider has to abandon his or her tour.
At Falkenjagd, that just can’t even be a possibility. For us cycling means freedom, and that is what we promise our customers when we present the Hoplit ST Reiserad. We agonise over the seemingly most unimportant details, in order to ensure that you have as little as possible to worry about when you are on the road. The result is a touring and expedition bike that guarantees piece of mind, even when taken off the beaten track. The extremely stable, scratch- and corrosion-resistant titanium frame is designed with a longer head tube and shorter top tube to produce a more upright riding position – this helps avoid shoulder and neck problems during long hours in the saddle.
The Hoplit ST has a lower bottom bracket compared to the Hoplit RS MTB. This lowers the centre of gravity, that would otherwise be raised when luggage is carried – the result is increased stability. The bike can be ridden with 650B or 700C wheels, according to whether the priority is for a softer ride over rough terrain or reduced rolling resistance on tarmac: flexibility that allows the Hoplit ST to double as a tough expedition machine and a smooth, efficient and stylish way of simply getting from A to B.
The Rohloff hub, with its 14 closely-spaced gears, is practically maintenance-free, and over two decades has proved itself to tourers and city-riders alike: some have now been ridden for over 100 000 kilometres!
The Hoplit Rohloff can be built with 650B or 700C wheels, depending on whether it is mainly for use on tarmac or rougher terrain. Various disc brake systems are available; at the front, rotors up to 203mm can be fitted. A SON front light, B&M rear light, and USB charger are included, along with stainless-steel low-riders from Tubus. As well as the regular Syntace build, a Titanium package based on Falkenjagd components is available, as well as a Tune Components package in a range of anodised colours.
