“A bike that is expensive, exclusive and extremely pleasant to ride, with the ‘I want it’ factor and beautiful aesthetics.”

In these pictures we have hidden two birds. Can you find them? If you look closely, you’ll see them clearly enough. There’s a falcon decorating the frame’s head badge, and the Rohloff raven identifies the famous hub gear on the rear wheel. Both of these birds are known for their agility, speed and intelligence; both feature prominently in mythology. In ancient Egypt, Horus the sky god had the body of a falcon, and the traditional Germanic tribes gave Odin, father of the gods, two raven companions named Huginn (‘thought’) and Muninn (‘memory’). These flew across the world every day, returning each evening to report on what was afoot.
You’ll be doing the same, if you decide to buy a Hoplit ST. Evening, after evening, after evening – because this bike, incorporating the most reliable hub gear in the world, is built for a long life. The Rohloff, in production since 1996 and scarcely changed to this day, is completely enclosed, almost maintenance-free, and features a ratio range of 526%. A number of them are recorded as having covered more than 100 000km. We have built the Hoplit ST in a way that totally complements the Rohloff system, to ensure that it functions perfectly. The cable mountings feature wide-radius curves, guaranteeing exceptionally smooth gear changes.
Tensioning the chain is done using the sliders on the dropouts; no chain-tensioner is required. In addition, the right dropout can be opened, to enable the fitting of a drive-belt: no more chain oiling, the belt is maintenance-free for its working life. So that you can keep pedalling powerfully and ceaselessly on long rides, the Hoplit ST features our Sport Touring geometry, with a slightly longer head tube for a comfortable riding position. Its very slightly longer wheelbase adds straight-line determination.
The Hoplit ST reveals its owner to be a true connoisseur. No paint or decals distract from its frame’s unique form, with vertical ovals, horizontal ovals and numerous tapered tubes. It is subjected to a laborious hand-finishing process, before the Falkenjagd name is sand-blasted on. Minimalism in its purest form.
The 14-speed Rohloff gearing system features even ratio steps across an overall range of 526%, and makes regular maintenance and adjustment a thing of the past. Our specially-developed Continental drive belt is available as an option. You can choose between a range of DT suspension forks, or fit a titanium rigid fork. Mudguards and rack can be supplied, making the bike ready for everyday use, and a range of option packages covering stem, handlebars and seat pin allow you to fine tune the Hoplit ST MTB Rohloff to suit your personal preferences.
